Are you motivated by combining hands-on financial leadership with a strategic role at the core of a global industrial business?
As CFO of Syncrolift, you will be a central member of the management team, working closely with the CEO and playing a key role in shaping the company’s strategy, performance, and long-term development. You will have direct impact on project performance, cash flow, and value creation in a global, project-based business with significant international exposure.
We are looking for a candidate who brings solid financial expertise together with a commercial and forward-looking mindset, and who is motivated by contributing beyond traditional finance responsibilities. You will be involved in key business decisions, helping to build insight, improve profitability, and create long-term value, with a clear focus on margins and performance.
Syncrolift and the position
Syncrolift is the largest subsidiary of the listed industrial group Nekkar ASA and has historically been its most profitable company. The company is a global market leader in shiplift and transfer systems, delivering mission-critical infrastructure to shipyards and naval bases worldwide.
With a strong and growing exposure to defence-related markets, Syncrolift is well positioned to benefit from increasing global defence spending and long-term investments in naval infrastructure.
The CFO will combine operational financial leadership with a forward-looking, business-oriented perspective. As part of the management team, you will play an active role in both strategic direction and operational execution, ensuring that financial insights drive performance and decision-making across the business.
You will report to the CEO of Syncrolift and work closely with the Group CFO of Nekkar, contributing to reporting, governance, and the continued development of the finance function. As a central member of the Syncrolift management team, you will also work closely with colleagues across the organization, playing an active role in driving performance, supporting decision-making, and contributing to the company’s continued development.
Other key responsibilities
Overall responsibility for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance
Act as a business partner to management, improving project performance, margins, and commercial decisions.
Lead and develop the finance function, including continuous improvement of processes, systems and reporting, to build a more forward-looking and business-oriented organization.
Own cash flow, working capital, and financial risk management.
Contribute to tenders, pricing, and contract evaluations.
Provide relevant analysis and insights to support decision-making.
Who we are looking for?
We are looking for a candidate who combines strong financial expertise with a commercial and forward-looking mindset. You are comfortable operating both strategically and hands-on, and you thrive in a role close to the business and the numbers.
You are curious and seek to understand the business beyond numbers, and you have the integrity and confidence to challenge and influence decisions when needed.
Relevant background may include experience from roles such as Senior Business Controller, Finance Manager, or CFO, within a project-based or industrial environment.
