Head of Finance & Operations | DAT
Join us to help scaling a technology company with an established product, international footprint and solid investors!
Do you want to help build the future of AgTech as part of a small, ambitious team? Do you thrive when given the opportunity to build something at scale? Do you have experience in both financial and operational leadership?
Dimensions Agri Technologies is looking for a Head of Finance & Operations to complement our CEO's external, sales- and partnership-driven leadership. While the CEO owns growth, deals, and relationships, this role owns the internal engine, including finance, legal, governance, company culture, and reporting. This is to ensure the company runs with rigor and is always investor-, board-, and audit-ready.
We believe the future of food security depends on a radical increase in efficiency, not more chemicals. DAT EcoPatch balances the economics of modern farming with global sustainability targets; by optimizing inputs, we protect crops while strengthening the farmer's bottom line. Now we hope that you would like to join us on this exciting journey ahead.
More about the position
In this position, you will be responsible for defining our company structure and roles, as well as defining resource needs. Together with the CEO, you will run business processes and cross-team coordination while shaping the company culture and working norms.
Other tasks and responsibilities:
Support the CEO in turning strategic decisions into working structures: roles, resourcing, and organizational development.
Own financial management: budgeting, cash flow, forecasting, and working with external accountants/auditors.
Manage board and shareholder processes and communications.
Prepare board materials and reporting.
Manage board meeting cadence and follow-ups.
Ensure regulatory and compliance matters are handled correctly (data, IP, grants/subsidies if relevant, industry-specific compliance).
Manage legal and contract processes: draft, review, and support negotiation of commercial contracts (with external counsel as needed); maintain contract records.
Support fundraising processes: data room, due diligence materials, cap table, and investor reporting.
Build and maintain internal reporting systems (KPIs, financial dashboards, operational metrics).
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with 8+ years of experience from business consulting and/or a technology startup or scale-up environment. You are confident taking ownership across both financial and operational areas and, importantly, comfortable being hands-on and taking on whatever tasks are needed in a small and ambitious company.
Experience:
Experience from a startup or scale-up environment, ideally within a hardware and/or software business.
Strong financial and commercial acumen, with experience in areas such as budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, financial reporting, fundraising processes, and deal structuring.
Experience preparing board materials and reporting to boards, shareholders, and/or investors.
Good commercial and legal understanding, with experience working with contracts and legal structures, without necessarily being a lawyer.
Way of working
A hands-on, execution-focused approach and willingness to take ownership of both strategic and day-to-day operational tasks.
Self-starting and comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy, complementing a commercially and sales-driven CEO.
Highly structured and detail-oriented, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
Comfortable operating as an individual contributor without a large support team or organisation around you.
Why join us?
This is not a role where you step into a large, established organization with all structures and processes already in place. You will join DAT at a stage where you can have a real influence on how the company is built, operated, and scaled.
You will have the opportunity to:
Help build the company for its next phase of growth, working closely with the CEO to put in place the financial, operational, legal, and organisational foundations needed to scale.
Take a central role in a small and ambitious company, with broad exposure across the business and direct involvement with the CEO, board, shareholders, and investors.
Help scale a technology company with an established product and international footprint. DAT already works with distributors across Norway, Germany, Sweden, Spain, and Portugal.
Work with technology that solves a real-world problem. DAT combines AI, machine vision, hardware, and agronomy to help farmers reduce herbicide use while improving productivity.
Join a company with proven and patented technology. The DAT sensor is patented in Norway and the US, with a European patent application pending.
See the direct impact of your work. Rather than owning one narrow function, you will help shape how the company operates as it grows, from financial management and reporting to governance, fundraising, contracts, and organizational development.
Work in an environment where you can build rather than simply maintain. You will have significant autonomy and the opportunity to establish structures and ways of working that can support DAT through international growth and scaling.
